The Home Depot door
You bought the plan from Home Depot, but Home Depot does not run it. Since February 1, 2021, an Allstate company — SquareTrade — administers these plans; before that date, it was Asurion, and those legacy plans are still running in kitchens today. Which era your plan sits in decides your portal, your phone tree, and parts of your fight. This page is the door: your administrator, your claim route, and the rules the brochure actually contains.
| Plan bought | Run by | Claim route |
|---|---|---|
| On or after Feb 1, 2021 | SquareTrade, an Allstate company (underwriter: Allstate Insurance Company) | hdprotectionplan.com or 833-763-0688, 24/7. Receipt (or Pro Xtra order) required. |
| Before Feb 1, 2021 | Asurion (legacy plans) | A different portal and phone tree — your plan document, not the current brochure, controls. See the legacy era page. |
The era split is not trivia: legacy holders' most documented complaint is that the plan term overlapped the manufacturer year instead of extending past it. If you hold a legacy plan, fight from your own document. The full current-era rules are on the Allstate era page.
The current plan covers mechanical and electrical breakdowns and defects in normal use — parts and labor, no deductible. It does not cover accidental or intentional damage, loss, or theft. Repair coverage generally starts when the manufacturer's warranty ends; some benefits — food spoilage, power-surge protection, the maintenance-parts reimbursement — run from delivery. If your appliance is still in its manufacturer year, expect to be bounced to the manufacturer first; that overlap is the plan working as written, and also the plan's most resented feature.
Start with the not-fixing page — the loop, decoded — then count your case in the checker. If the stall passes a month, the door that ends stalls is a complaint to your state's regulator: these plans are insurance-backed, and the underwriter (Allstate Insurance Company) answers to your insurance department. The regulator page has the doors by state.
Count your own case. The free checker takes your store, your plan date, your repair history, and your dates — and returns your lemon count, your live clocks, and the money the plan owes. Run the checker →
The pages above are the map. The kit is the paperwork: the repair log that proves the count, the script for your administrator, and the complaint pack for when the stall continues.
One payment, yours to keep. We never ask for your store or plan-portal password — you file everything yourself. See everything inside the kit →
