The era pages

Bought your Home Depot plan on or after Feb 1, 2021? SquareTrade runs it.

Home Depot changed administrators on February 1, 2021. Plans bought from that date are administered by SquareTrade — an Allstate company — with Allstate Insurance Company as underwriter. Everything on this page is the current era: the claim route, the coverage shape, and the four benefits that decide fights.

The claim route

Claims run 24/7 at hdprotectionplan.com or 833-763-0688. You will need the receipt (or the Pro Xtra order). Repair coverage generally begins when the manufacturer's warranty ends; food spoilage, power-surge, and a few other benefits run from delivery. The plan covers mechanical/electrical breakdowns and defects in normal use, parts and labor, no deductible — and excludes accidental or intentional damage, loss, and theft.

The four benefits that decide fights

BenefitThe rule (official brochure)
No Lemon PolicyTwo service repairs for the same issue + a third needed → replacement or reimbursement of the original purchase price plus tax (Home Depot eGift Card). SquareTrade's standard terms frame the count within any 12-month period; the coverage page says "during the protection plan term."
Speed guaranteeAppointment available within 2 days (top-100 metros) / 3 days (elsewhere), or a $50 check or eGift Card — and the repair still happens.
Food spoilageUp to $300 per claim for fridge/freezer mechanical failure.
No-claim rewardNo service claim for the whole term → 30% of the plan price back (check or eGift Card). The brochure states no claim-by deadline — claim promptly when the term ends regardless.

Plan prices from the same brochure: a $1,000–$1,499 appliance carries a $150 (3-year) / $225 (5-year) plan; $2,000–$2,999 runs $195/$295; $3,000–$6,999 runs $295/$460. The plan averaged about 14% of the appliance price across the industry in a March 2026 survey — context for what the fight is worth.

The era trap, stated plainly

If you bought before Feb 1, 2021, none of the portal details above are yours — your plan is an Asurion legacy plan under its own document. Go to the legacy era page. If you bought after, this page plus the SquareTrade crosswalk are your map, and the checker counts your case.

Count your own case. The free checker takes your store, your plan date, your repair history, and your dates — and returns your lemon count, your live clocks, and the money the plan owes. Run the checker →

The working papers for this fight

The pages above are the map. The kit is the paperwork: the repair log that proves the count, the script for your administrator, and the complaint pack for when the stall continues.

Included in the $39 ProtectionPlanDecoded Kit

  • The SquareTrade escalation script + the 12-month framing worksheet
  • The lemon-proof repair log and the speed-guarantee claim wording
  • The regulator complaint pack (the underwriter is an insurer — your state DOI takes the complaint)
