About ProtectionPlanDecoded.

What this site is

ProtectionPlanDecoded exists because of a gap the giants cannot fill: Home Depot and Lowe's publish their protection-plan terms, but they will never publish the tactics for using those terms against a stalled claim — the counting rules that force a replacement, the small clocks that pay money, the escalation doors. We read the documents (the official Home Depot brochure, the Lowe's Terms & Conditions, the administrators' standard terms), verify every rule against them, and publish the counts, clocks, and moves in plain words.

Who runs it

ProtectionPlanDecoded is published by CLEARDEAL LLC. We are not Home Depot, Lowe's, SquareTrade, Allstate, Assurant, or Asurion; we do not sell, broker, or administer protection plans or warranties of any kind. The site is funded by one thing: the $39 ProtectionPlanDecoded Kit.

How we keep it honest

Every rule carries its source and a checked date. Where documents conflict — and they do, most visibly on the Home Depot lemon framing — we publish both readings instead of picking the convenient one. Where a figure is an estimate, it is labeled an estimate with its basis. Our correction log shows the verification record, and verified reader corrections join it.

The sister site

Whole-house warranty contracts are a different product with different companies and different rules; they live at WarrantyDecoded, run by the same company, deliberately separate. The split page tells you which fight is yours.
