The 48-hour wall
Home Depot's own rule for major appliances: damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, at 1-800-455-3869. Miss the window and the store routes you to its Special Services Desk — a slower, murkier door. The window is the store's policy, not a law, and documented damage reported late still gets fixed when the paper is strong. But inside the window everything is easier. Move accordingly.
The Special Services Desk is the named route. Go in person or in writing with the full pack: delivery-day photos (their timestamps are your timeline), the signed slip, the ticket history from any call you did make, and a one-paragraph account of when the damage was discovered — some damage (a slow leak, a scratch under a runner) is genuinely discoverable late, and discovery framing matters. If the desk refuses in conversation, ask for the refusal in writing; a written decision is what an escalation or a consumer-protection complaint acts on.
A dented door panel is this page. A gouged floor or a leaking install is a liability claim against the store and its delivery contractor — different door, different evidence. That map is on the delivery-damaged-my-floor page.
Count your own case. The free checker takes your store, your plan date, your repair history, and your dates — and returns your lemon count, your live clocks, and the money the plan owes. Run the checker →
The pages above are the map. The kit is the paperwork: the repair log that proves the count, the script for your administrator, and the complaint pack for when the stall continues.
One payment, yours to keep. We never ask for your store or plan-portal password — you file everything yourself. See everything inside the kit →
